Swept Path Analysis
AMNI Transportation has undertaken a number of commissions to assess vehicle movements using swept path analysis software within new development layouts. A summary of our recent work is provide below.
Residential Development, West Yorkshire
For this commission, AMNI Transportation needed to design up a larger sized vehicle using the specification provided by the local highway authority and then test the proposed residential layout with this specifically designed vehicle.
Residential Development, Buxton
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to develop a Transport Statement to support a planning application for a residential development in Buxton. As part of the work, AMNI had to produce a number of vehicle swept paths to demonstrate that a private car and a delivery van could access the development.
New Traffic Signal Layout, West Lancashire
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to analyse a new junction consisting of traffic signals to determine whether an articulated vehicle could safely negotiate the proposed layout.
Access to Forestry Land, Cumbria
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to analyse a proposed turning facility and access for a large timber transporter vehicle. As part of the work, AMNI had to specially design up the vehicle, using a specification sheet provided by the Client, that would actually use the proposed site.
Proposed Stable Development, Cumbria
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to assess the swept paths for a horse trailer and vehicle to ensure that the vehicles could safely negotiate into the parking spaces proposed and within the proposed internal access area.
Residential Development, Manchester
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to assess the turning into, out of and access within a proposed residential layout. AMNI Transportation was able to demonstrate that the largest currently used refuse vehicle in Manchester would be able to access the development site and turnaround.
Proposed Distribution Warehouse Extension, Hyndburn
AMNI Transportation was commissioned to develop a Transport Statement to support a planning application for an extension to a distribution warehouse in Hyndburn. As part of the work, AMNI had to produce a number of vehicle swept paths to demonstrate that an articulated vehicle could access the proposed layout, negotiate into all the loading bays in the proposed extended building and then safely leave the site in forward gear.
